Ethel Margaret Hall passed away Friday, February 8, 2013 at Rose Arbor Hospice in Kalamazoo. She was born September 6, 1920, in Ransom, IL, the daughter of Edward and Agnes (Mulvihill) Walling. She worked for Whirlpool Corp. in contract sales for 20 years and upon retiring, worked for the American Red Cross in Winter Haven, FL. She moved back to Michigan in 2008 to be closer to her family. She was an avid reader and always enjoyed and took great pride in her work. In 1938, she married James Ewing in Ottawa, IL, and they had 3 children: James (Judi) McCarrens of Ottawa, IL, Judi Brandner of LaSalle, IL, and Marsha Kay Krieger of Macomb, MI. After her husband died unexpectedly in 1944, Ethel married Dennison Francis Hall in 1946 and moved to St. Joseph, MI. Ethel and Denny were married 51 years before his death in 1997. They had on son, Robert (Judy) Hall of Paw Paw, MI. In addition to her husbands, Ethel was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Edward Walling and Walter Walling, sister Minnie Walling McCarrens; and two grandchildren. She lost daughter Marsha Kay Krieger earlier this year. She is survived by her remaining children, 10 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at the Fountains at Bronson Place, 1700 Bronson Way in Kalamazoo on Monday, February 18 at 11AM, Fr. Robert Consani, celebrant. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross.
